sometimes, our default setting is to disapprove of he who has gained fame in a short period of time. It is not caution at misjudging competence for popularity, but rather a form of envy. It points 180 degrees from Nietzsche's Übermensch.

I have tried to dislike the guy (Lex) for being too corny at times, too lenient with his guests at other times, but I must concede that I actually like his interview style.

Listening to Lex talk to DHH, the interview is less of an interview, and more of a conversation that I myself would like to have with someone like DHH.

Laid back approach, tangents not only allowed but encouraged, no desire to stay inside the circumvallation of two or three pre-established topics. Paradoxically, this drifting communicates a richer view of the main topics. A broader dynamic range to see what the person sees.
